TeleHealth Visit Options
Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, a nationwide public health emergency has been declared. As a result, health care providers that are typically subject to HIPAA rules may seek out alternative communications with their patients, specifically through telehealth and remote communication technology. While these modes of communication may not traditionally comply with HIPAA guidelines, the rules have been waived temporarily given the pandemic to allow patients to meet with their providers regularly in an environment that will not predispose them to significant exposures.

Phone Call
A brief check-in between patient and provider with NO video component.

FaceTime
Conversation between patient and provider that includes a video component.

TeleHealth
Most comprehensive. Allows full visual of patient and provider. May include ability to take vital signs, EKG, and even stethoscope recordings.
